Visit the Thrift Shop at 1803 Voght Street in Merritt, BC

The Thrift Shop is the Auxiliary’s main fundraiser today. Funds raised support health care needs within our community, and we could not do it without your support and donations. Every donation and every purchase counts, and we thank you!

The Thrift Shop is staffed with volunteers and students, and is one of the busiest small shops in Merritt, with up to 80 visitors a day. Line-ups at the door before the shop opens prove its popularity and impact, and it provides everything the community needs at a very reasonable price.

Recycle, Reuse, Reimagine

Almost every item donated to the Thrift Shop is reused in some way, and every dollar supports health care.

For example, our volunteers sew bags out of shirts that cannot be sold, and cotton that cannot be sold is turned into rags by Ska-Lu-La Workshop, then sold in bags; many local contractors and tradespeople come and buy these rags. We also support the Nicola Valley Fall Fair with Thrift Shop oddities and donate overages to Big Brothers & Sisters monthly.

Items can be dropped off at the Thrift Shop at 1803 Voght Street in Merritt during store hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 4 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.

Please drop off all donations at the side door and feel free to call the Thrift Shop at 250-378-9100 if you have donation-related questions.

Please note that the list of items the Thrift Shop accepts may change over time to accommodate the Thrift Shop's needs. There are some items that we cannot accept for various reasons, including safety and limited space. This includes: large appliances, televisions, food, mattresses and box springs, weapons and explosives, construction materials, and flammable products. If in doubt, please call us during shop hours to clarify acceptability of items at 250-378-9100.

Please do not dump unacceptable items, such as unapproved furniture or large appliances, outside the Thrift Shop. Unusable items left outside the Thrift Shop have to be taken to the transfer station in Lower Nicola, placing an unnecessary financial burden on the Thrift Shop. This takes away much needed resources from the Auxiliary and reduces the funds we can contribute to health care within our community.
