How We Support Mature Students in our Community

The Nicola Valley Health Care Auxiliary is committed to strengthening our local healthcare landscape by supporting the next generation of professionals. We recognize the dedication it takes to return to school, and we are proud to offer financial assistance to mature students who are pursuing careers in high-demand healthcare fields.

As an Auxiliary, our mission is to help bridge the gap in areas currently facing skilled shortages. If you are passionate about entering the healthcare sector and are in need of financial support to reach your goals, we encourage you to apply.

To be eligible for a bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Currently registered in a recognized healthcare program at a BC public post-secondary institution.
  • Eligible programs include, but are not limited to: Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), Registered Nursing (RN), Health Care Aide, Laboratory Technician

We invite interested students to submit a formal letter of request. Your letter should clearly outline your current financial need, your chosen career path, and your long-term professional goals.

Please include the following with your application:

  • A personal letter detailing your background and career aspirations.
  • Proof of registration in your specific healthcare program.
  • Current contact information.

Applications should be addressed to the President of the Nicola Valley Health Care Auxiliary and can be submitted via email to [email protected] or dropped off in person at the Thrift Shop. Please refer to our Contact page for all the details.

Take the next step in your healthcare journey with the support of your community. We look forward to hearing from you!
